Series 35 Integrates With Railroad Ultrasonic Testing System
Introduction
Series 35 integrates with railroad ultrasonic testing system to test the condition of the rail car wheels.
Project Challenge
Matec Instruments Co. builds non-destructive ultrasonic testing systems for aerospace and railroad industries. The company had an application to test the wheels of railroad cars and needed a lift that could be put on tracks and rolled into the tanks of their testing system to inspect for defects.
Our Solution
The flexibility and ease of use of this Series 35 Model #24S80 is a perfect fit for integrated into their testing system. The exceptionally low lowered height allows for the lift to be easily mounted onto the tracking system that rolls the wheels into the testing tanks. The lowered height also makes for the task of on and offloading simpler and improves the rate of moving the wheels from the testing tank to either be machined or replaced back on the train cars.
The Results
A simple solution of using a standard Series 35 lift and integrating it into an existing system is a testament to the benefits of this product with the flexibility and versatility of its design structure.
