Freight Lite VRC Moves Film Equipment for Film School
Introduction
Freight Lite successfully moves heavy film equipment to storage level at film school.
Project Challenge
The film production students at Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University were carrying heavy loads of film equipment up several flights of stairs to a storage area. The process was taxing on the students and unsafe. The faculty at the college wanted a solution that would make the process safer for the students, and one that would save time.
Our Solution
Autoquip custom built a Freight Lite VRC to fit within an existing space near the staircase at the facility. This was an ideal location so that the students can easily load the lift from the ground floor, then use the stairs to meet the lift at the upper level to unload the film equipment. The Freight Lite is designed for a 1,500 load capacity, floor to floor travel of 13 feet, and carriage size of 72”X60”.
The Results
The Freight Lite has successfully done all the heavy lifting for the film production students. The students have been safely using the lift to load or unload their film equipment which has reduced time and fatigue.
