Custom Dock Lift Solution for Unique 3-Sided Pit Design
Introduction
A 39” PLT dock lift and 3-sided pit required a one-of-a-kind lift solution.
Project Challenge
Pace Equipment needed a material handling lift for a unique 3-sided pit configuration at their facility. Their 39” dock height required a lift capable of servicing trailers up to 52” high, while providing a smooth transition from dock to service level. The challenge was to design a solution that maximized efficiency, ensured operator safety, and integrated seamlessly into their existing dock structure.
Our Solution
Autoquip engineered a custom dock lift designed to sit flush with the finished dock floor when lowered. The lift was built with an 8,000 lb. capacity to handle heavy loads and included an upgraded 72” x 18” split bridge—larger than the standard 72” x 12”—to provide greater versatility in bridging the gap between dock and trailer.
For improved functionality and security, the power unit and controls were installed inside the building, positioned next to the customer’s roll-up door. This not only kept equipment protected but also allowed operators easy access during loading and unloading.
